TEACHING KINEMATICS WITH A PROGRAMMABLE ROBOT
July 27 – 30, 2015, 9 am – 4 pm @ The Science House
Participants in this workshop will be introduced to a new physics apparatus, a programmable robot for teaching kinematics, and will adopt student and teachers modes (modeling-workshop-style) while working through a full kinematics curriculum taking advantage of the new apparatus.
SCIENCE SAFETY TRAIN-THE-TRAINER WORKSHOP
August 12-13, 2015, 9 am - 3 pm @ The Science House
This training session focuses on the training required as part of a comprehensive safety program as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and the Chemical Hygiene Plan as defined by the OSHA Lab Standard. Participants will also receive training in the following topics: chemical storage, safety equipment and personal protective equipment, Material Safety Data Sheets, signs, labels and other forms of warning, emergency procedures, spill control and waste disposal.
